To Create a Contractor EWN
The following steps describe how to create an Early Warning Notification initiated by a Contractor, in AssetWise CONNECT Edition.
- On the Contract Communication tile, select New communication. The New communication page appears, open to the Attributes tab.
- In the Communication type box, select Contractor's early warning notification.
- In the Title box, enter a name for the early warning notification.
- Select a date for which the early warning notification was initiated.
- Click Save changes. The early warning notification is created, and the communication opens to the Attributes tab.
- From the Work Task menu, select Accept. The work task is created, and is added to the Work in Progress folder. The EWN communication page opens to the Attributes tab. For example:

You can accept the EWN, by selecting
Accept from the
Task menu.
The EWN is moved from your Work Activity's Inbox to the Work in Progress folder.
- In the Contractor's early warning notification section, describe the details of the notification.
- In the Clause 16.1 - The event could: box, select one or more phrases that best suit the cause of this notification such as Delay completion, Delay meeting a Key Date, or Increase the Contractor's cost, for example.
- Select the severity of this EWN as it pertains to its impact on cost, time, and/or performance impact. Select either Low, Medium, or High.

Select whether a risk reduction meeting is required, and if
Yes, then you must select a
Risk reduction meeting date by clicking the
calendar icon (
), and selecting a date.
- Provide a description in the Close out commentary box.
- Select an early warning outcome from the list. Your choices are: Avoided, Instructed, Notification of Compensation, Passed, or Other.
- You can now add other objects to the communication such as communications, documents, files and notes. For more information, see To Add Objects to Communications.
When you are
finished, you can
complete the Initiate task of the EWN.
